Dark under the eyes

Outlier Recordings had an exceptional 2011.  Oddlogic’s work alone is worth noting but, beyond that, the label dropped serious tunes from Soulo Mission, Polozov, Color Plus and Eric Zolan, and many more.  And now they’ve come out with a nifty compilation that makes evident their dedication to forward thinking bass music.

Outsourced vol. 5 is as excellent as it is diverse.  Memotone’s metallic and grimy opening leads into the gauzy and spaced out rhythms of Sunday Morning’s “Fog”.  Things get deeper and deeper from there.  Kiyani gets across more of his individuality in a minute than most can do in a whole career.  “Anxious Shit” bangs like a Thai hooker.  And “Wall St”, the final track, reminds anyone who forgot that oddlogic is hard to best.  Stream the compilation below.
